Spring into Action: Adapt, Change, Grow and GLOW |

With spring comes a sense of renewal. Our hibernating tendencies are shed along with our extra layers of clothes.
But what if you’ve been hibernating from yourself? What if the extra layers are your comfort zone? We’ve all been there; it’s nice and warm and familiar. But is it allowing you to grow personally or professionally? Probably not. So what’s a girl to do? Spring into action, of course!
Adapt. That’s the first step. There’s no denying the rules have changed the way we do business. Many of us are business owners facing difficult times. Perhaps our client base has dwindled or we’re lowering our profit margins to keep our current clients. That’s not adapting; that’s denial. Adapting is to look at your business plan, take stock of your skill sets, find your passion, examine current trends and find new market space. It’s there. We just have to uncover it. So get those garden tools out and start digging!
Change. That’s the result of adapting. I’ve spoken to so many of our members and they use the word “transitioning”. I’d prefer metamorphosing. We are metamorphosing into our next role in life. We are shedding the extra layers. Once you’ve narrowed your focus, found your passion, determined your new target market, it’s time to change the way you think of yourself and the way you do business. Change is a verb and a noun; it’s a process and a state of being.
Grow. That’s our goal. Growing personally and growing professionally…they are intertwined.
GLOW. Like the flower that turns to the glow of the sun for nourishment, we must give ourselves permission to turn to one another for support, encouragement and resources to grow. As Sandra Yancy, CEO and Founder of eWomenNetwork says, “a candle looses none of it flame when it used to light another candle—together they GLOW even brighter.” Come join us at one of our monthly events and let us share our GLOW with you!
