Join The Voices For Recovery Together We Learn, Together We Heal Healing a Disease Through Recovery

Recovery Month is  celebrated nationally during the month of September, including right here in New Jersey.  Collectively, prevention and treatment providers have made great strides to bring this very important aspect of substance abuse and addiction to light.  Addiction affects everyone, including people right here in Camden County, and it is imperative that our community makes resources available for those confronting this treatable disease.

Addiction is a disease and just like any other chronic illness, it can be recovered from.
  • Treatment and recovery support services are as effective as treatment for other diseases, such as asthma or diabetes.
  • Recovery positively affects individuals, families, and communities.
  • A holistic and recovery-oriented approach to overcoming substance abuse disorders address factors such as age, gender, culture, faith, and other drug-appropriate services that are designed to help people recover physically, mentally, and spiritually. For a list of local providers, please call our office.
For 20 years, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Center for Substance Abuse Treatment, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has supported this month-long celebration of people in recovery from substance use disorders, as well as the people who have helped them and those still in need of treatment. Supporting families in recovery and local treatment facilities is another important aspect of Recovery Month. This year, CCCADA will be observing Recovery Month by joining the Countywide as well as Statewide walk that will take place on Saturday, September 12th.  Please consider joining us for this very moving event. For more information on the walk, please contact our office at (856) 427 – 6553 or check out www.recoverymonth.gov for additional resources on recovery.
