CCC Will Help You Achieve Your Goals

Today’s challenging economy has driven many local women to return to the workforce, change careers or upgrade their employment status. To do so, a number of them are attending college for the first time or seeking additional schooling.

Whatever your objectives and whatever your prior experience, Camden County College will help you achieve your academic and career goals. CCC offers more than 100 degree and certificate programs in arts, humanities and social sciences; business, computer and technical studies; and mathematics, science and health careers along with a comprehensive slate of non-credit courses. Regardless of your major, the College aims to make you self-sufficient – starting with your enrollment.

Helpful technological tools allow you to navigate the registration process easily. Becoming an official CCC student takes just five easy steps: 1) filing an admission application; 2) taking the placement test; 3) receiving advisement; 4) registering for classes; and 5) making payment. Students may handle all of these steps in person, but online resources allow you to complete much of the process at your convenience. The admissions application, placement test information and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA form may be accessed through the College’s Web site at www.camdencc.edu. WebAdvisor provides online course descriptions, registration, payment by credit card, financial aid application status and other pertinent information. Payment also may be made by mail in the form of check or money order, in person via either of these methods as well as in cash; by VISA, MasterCard or Discover; or with an approved financial aid award.

E-advising is available, and CCC’s toll-free telephone line may be reached by dialing (888) 228-2466. Self-sufficiency continues throughout your studies, thanks to the coordinated and comprehensive array of support services that the College offers to its diverse student population. These programs and activities facilitate your pursuit of personal and academic success. Those who are unable to attend our traditional in-person new student orientation in the summer, which seeks to acclimate you to your life as a CCC student, may access the presentation via Power Point from our Web site.

Support services also include ongoing advisement, which provides the guidance and information necessary for you to explore your academic, career-development and transfer options. Advisors help you with selecting the right major and choosing the best courses for your schedule. Should you have any academic difficulties, they also will facilitate your receipt of tutoring or other assistance. Importantly, advisors recognize that each of you is unique in your interests, goals and development and strive to educate and empower you in achieving your individual objectives.

Also available throughout your tenure as a CCC student is help with applying for and utilizing any financial assistance for which you might be eligible. There are many federal and state programs available to students who need financial aid to pay for their higher education. Online resources and College staff will guide you in seeking the grants, scholarships, loans or work-study opportunities for which you qualify. They also will connect you to personnel associated with any special-population funds – including the Educational Opportunity Fund Program or EOF, the federal Student Support Services Program or SSS and the New Jersey Student Tuition Assistance Reward Scholarship Program or NJ STARS – for which you may be eligible.

A key aspect of your collegiate experience is likely to be transfer. If so, the College strives to ensure that your transition to a four-year institution is smooth and positive. Because research and planning are vital, CCC’s transfer resources will encourage you to think about where you want to go and what you want to study there as early as possible. The workshops, fairs and online databases are designed to enable you to make your transfer decisions wisely. On-campus degree completion partnerships with four-year colleges and universities allow you to pursue a bachelor’s degree without leaving the familiar surroundings of our campuses.

Other resources available at CCC include services for students with disabilities; the Veterans Services Center, which assists veterans and their family members; the Student Employment Office; ESL/International Student Services; on-campus child care facilities, which offer an educational environment and competitive pricing; and extracurricular trips, events and activities, which will enrich your overall college experience and give you the opportunity to develop leadership skills outside the classroom.

Knowledgeable staff and convenient access combine to provide student-friendly services that fill the academic
support needs you may experience while at the College. Most services are available at both the Blackwood and Camden campuses, and many are available at the William G. Rohrer Center in Cherry Hill as well. From enrollment to graduation, Camden County College’s student services make it easy for you to stay on your education and career path and reach your goals – independently but never alone.
