One-Stop Career Help at Camden County Library

The Camden County Library System is pleased to announce a pilot program that will allow residents to get job search help provided by the Camden County One-Stop Career Center through a series of workshops at its M. Allan Vogelson Branch in Voorhees.

A One-Stop employment representative will conduct each workshop to prepare job seekers to locate and land job opportunities, whether they are unemployed, under-employed or seeking a better job. Each in-depth workshop will cover resume preparation, interviewing skills and job searching techniques including online searching.

The workshops are scheduled for the following dates:
  • Wednesday, September  22    6 - 8:30p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 20    2 - 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November  30    6 - 8:30 p.m.
Advance registration is required as seating is limited.

“We are very happy to extend this service and reach out to the community by offering this valuable help at the Voorhees branch library. Job search assistance is needed more now than ever in this difficult job market. I hope many of our residents will take advantage and sign up early for a seat,” stated County Freeholder Riletta Cream, who serves as the County’s liaison to the library system.

Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez praised the pilot program for its effort to educate those older employees who have lost their jobs and for the first time may be seeking work in the digital world.

“The whole job search landscape has changed so much in the past ten years. Newspaper classified ads are no longer the first place to start looking. Our residents need to know how to use online resources and for many, the library is the only place where they can get access to the Internet. It’s a good fit to have the Camden County One-Stop Career Center present these critical services in a local community’s library,” noted Rodriguez.

Established in 1921, Camden County Library System seeks to meet the recreational, informational and educational needs of its customers with locations in Bellmawr, Gloucester Township, Haddon Township, Merchantville, Winslow Township and Voorhees. The Library is governed and supported by the Camden County Board of Freeholders and the Camden County Library Commission. For more information visit
