The Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter will hold its annual two part fundraiser this spring:
first up will be the “Chocolate Symphony Auction Garden Party”
, Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Glen Foerd on The Delaware in Northeast Philadelphia; the second event, “Chocolate Symphony Spring Sensation”
gala takes place Saturday evening, June 2, 2012 at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel. Congressman Jon Runyan and his wife Loretta will again serve as Honorary Chairs.
This year, the Alzheimer’s Association will honor The Philadelphia Phillies as Community Champions. Orien Reid-Nix, former Channel 10 consumer reporter, will be presented with the Association’s MVP Award.
Some of the Delaware Valley’s finest pastry chefs and chocolatiers will present their most delicious cakes, candies, and cupcakes at the events, which benefit the programs and services of the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter.
In addition to a fabulous array of chocolate delights, the “Chocolate Symphony Auction Garden Party” will feature live music, champagne and martini bars, a delectable buffet, plus a silent auction featuring items for the entire family. Glen Foerd on The Delaware, the last surviving riverfront estate in Philadelphia still open to the public, will offer a stunning backdrop to the event and guests may tour the estate’s beautifully landscaped 18 acres as well as the mansion.
The black-tie “Spring Sensation” at Loews Philadelphia Hotel, Saturday, June 2, 2012, brings together supporters of the Alzheimer’s Association for an evening of delicious food, cocktails and a live auction led by celebrity auctioneer Scott Palmer of the Philadelphia Phillies.
