Destination Weddings: A Big Trend in 2013

Destination weddings will be a big trend in 2013 with more and more couples having smaller, more intimate celebrations in faraway locations. Tropical destinations such as Hawaii, Mexico, Thailand, and the Caribbean will still be popular, but there will be more couples choosing other types of locations in cities, the countryside, old world towns, forests, and even deserts. Couples are thinking a little more outside of the box to find that one special place where they want to get married.

A destination wedding can be done in almost any scenic place. Popular spots include naturally beautiful backdrops like a remote beach or mountain area.

A destination wedding can feel like an instant vacation for a couple. With the effort put into travel plans, couples don’t have to worry about the effort in creating a setting. The background is gorgeous in itself.
Traveling can be a a bit chaotic for a larger group of people. A destination wedding is better as a private affair for close family and friends. This saves money on travel expenses and creates a more intimate event for the bride and groom.

The convenience of local hotels and resorts is a plus. It makes a post-ceremony and reception honeymoon much easier to arrange. It also allows guests to join in on the festivities as well.

Whether or not a destination wedding and honeymoon is chosen comes down to whether traveling is feasible for the couple and their guests based on budget and other logistics. However, a well planned wedding ceremony and honeymoon in an exotic locale can make the day truly one the couple and wedding guests will remember.
