CCCADA's Mission is to promote awareness of alcohol, drugs and tobacco and to encourage early intervention and knowledge of the availability of treatment throughout Camden County. CCCADA seeks to:

Educate:the public that alcoholism, drug abuse and related problems are treatable and preventable
Encourage:early identification, intervention, treatment and continuum of care for alcoholism, drug abuse and related problems
The half-gram bottle of bath salts promises an "invigorating" and
"energizing" experience but to local and federal authorities, it's
another dangerous product misused as “fake cocaine” that's sending youth
to emergency rooms and mental hospitals in Florida and across the
country.
The latest rage among many high school and college students is causing
some serious concerns. An alcoholic energy drink called Four Loko is so
potent some states want it banned. Four Loko is considered an
“alco-pop”, an alcoholic beverage made with fruit juices and other
flavorings which tend to conceal the alcohol content of the drink behind
a sweet, fruity flavor. The colors, the flavors, the website, and the
language used to market this product clearly targets teens, i.e.
underage drinkers.
The tobacco industry has unleashed its most aggressive marketing campaigns aimed at women and girls in over a decade, according to a report by a coalition of Public Health organizations.
We are all too familiar with today’s portrayal of teenagers—rebellious, difficult, and driven by peer pressure. However, what we don’t see is that kids often start making good or bad choices before their teen years.
Underage drinking in New Jersey is on an epidemic scale. Our youth continue to use alcohol at rates that should alarm all concerned citizens in the state.
Recovery Month is celebrated nationally during the month of September,
including right here in New Jersey. Collectively, prevention and
treatment providers have made great strides to bring this very
important aspect of substance abuse and addiction to light. Addiction
affects everyone, including people right here in Camden County, and it
is imperative that our community makes resources available for those
confronting this treatable disease.
The abuse of alcohol and prescription drugs among the senior population
poses a serious public health threat to New Jersey. Seniors 65 and
older are a growing segment of the population, making up 13 percent of
New Jersey’s population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2003
population profile of the United States.
Did you know that April is Alcohol Awareness Month? At our recent annual breakfast marking this event, we invited each municipality and borough in Camden County to sign a proclamation recognizing this awareness campaign.
Today when young people talk about a “Pharm Party” they are not
necessary referring to a Keg party at someone’s barn out on the family
farm. The new term “Pharm Party” refers to a party where prescription
drugs are readily available in a potentially deadly mixture.
The holidays are upon us and many parents are not aware that teens today only need to look to their local supermarkets, pharmacies or home medicine cabinets to get high using Over The Counter (OTC) cough medicines and cold remedies.
